Ronda Rousey is reportedly finalizing details of her official shift from UFC to the WWE, according to USA TODAY Sports.
Rousey recently posted a video to her Instagram account in which it appeared she may in fact be training to get ready for a debut in the WWE. If nothing else, the fact that Rousey was training in general is an indication of her return to some kind of ring.
Back in September during the Mae Young Classic, Rousey appeared ringside in support of Shayna Baszler. Her fellow MMA fighter fell short of winning the tournament, yet Rousey was along for the ride. She even appeared in a backstage segment in which her fellow MMA fighters ran into the WWE’s own four horsewomen in Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks, and Bayley.
The ground is fertile for Rousey to make her debut. With WrestleMania just five months away from taking place, it’s an event she has experience at, having first tangled with Stephanie McMahon at WrestleMania 31. In addition, Baszler is currently signed to an NXT contract, which could allow for the duo to team up and take on any combination of the WWE’s four horsewomen.
Rousey’s days with the UFC appear over, having last stepped into the ring last December. Her rise in MMA was meteoric, with her potential signing with the WWE a major addition to the push the company is making in its women’s division.
